A new year..2026!

A new year…2026.

Have you paused for a moment yet, reflecting on this new year? A new year that comes with exciting new adventures, memories, and most importantly a stronger relationship with Christ. Or.. Have you made any new goals this year? Maybe you want to eat healthier, or workout more. Whatever that goal is, it’s going to take some patience. That’s the word for this year: Patience.

I want to challenge you to start a clean slate this year. For me, I want to be content every day with what I have, and be patient. Last year, I struggled a lot with patience and the desire for everything to come to me as soon as possible. But I realized life isn’t all about having everything at once. It’s about waiting and having patience. It’s about waiting in the storm or trials you have to face, in order to receive the outcome that God has for you.

But, waiting also comes with lots of prayers and worship. One of my favorite things is to just turn on Toby Mac or Mandisa, and just start my morning by praising and dancing with the Lord.

God made us all with talents and gifts, and he made us just the way He wanted. So, you are not a mistake, you were made for purpose!

I would like to share a verse with you that will possibly help in this new year of 2026. The verse comes from Ecclesiastes 11:3-6. It reads:

“When clouds are heavy, the rains come down. Whether a tree falls north or south, it stays where it falls. Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both.” (NLT version)

So just in that verse, we need to be unlike the farmer and not wait for the perfect weather, but instead be a seed that is planted and grows to full bloom. Whatever goal you have this year, be patient and ultimately your seed over time will be tended and harvested into a great bloom! After all, Jesus knows your path already, so you just have to trust him in the waiting.
